Materials, craft and the people behind SAMI ALAM PARIS.

Made by Human Me is a creative production studio dedicated to preserving human-made knowledge through innovation. It works with traditional techniques, materials and skilled makers to develop contemporary products while exploring sustainable, ethical and environmentally responsible ways of making. Rather than keeping craft fixed in the past, it creates new applications for inherited knowledge, connecting makers and cultures with contemporary design and new possibilities.

Its first project, Les Deux Fleuves, explores Kantha, Lungi and Rajshahi silk through contemporary fashion, combining inherited craftsmanship with denim, new silhouettes and considered processes.Preservation through innovation.

We believe "Preservation through Innovation"

KANTHA JACKET & VEST

Kantha is a Centuries-old Bengali tradition of layering cloth and building its surface through hand stitching. Traditionally made from existing sarees and fabrics, its value lies not only in reuse, but in the human imagination held within every composition — the choice of cloth, colour, motif and stitch.

For Les Deux Fleuves, reclaimed sarees are transformed into jacket panels and combined with denim, bringing the softness and irregularity of Kantha into a structured contemporary silhouette.

The work is developed with artisans in Jamalpur and Sherpur, in north-central Bangladesh, regions closely connected to the living tradition of Kantha.

SOFT SILK SHIRT

Rajshahi, in northwestern Bangladesh, has a long-standing silk tradition. For the collection, soft silk is transformed through a combination of tie-dye and hand-brushing developed by Master artisan, whose practice gives the surface its distinctive depth and movement.

Soft silk is hand dyed and painted to create each textile surface. Variations in colour and brushwork make every piece individual.

The textile passes through a carefully sequenced process, where colour is built, softened and refined by hand before becoming a shirt.

Raw silk → Tie-dye → Wash → Hand brushing → Steam → Wash → Ironing → Tailoring

BENGAL PANTS

Woven in Sirajganj, in north-central Bangladesh, Lungi is part of everyday dress across the country. Its checks, stripes and colours are familiar, carrying a distinctive visual language shaped by everyday life.

For Les Deux Fleuves, ready-made Lungi textiles are selected for their colour, scale and woven character, then cut and reconstructed into contemporary silhouettes. Denim introduces structure and contrast, allowing a familiar textile to take on a new proportion and purpose.

Lungi Sourcing→ Selection → Cutting → Reconstruction → Denim integration → Tailoring → Finishing

SCARF

The scarves begin with the same soft silk used for the shirts, but take a different path. Screen printing introduces the imagery, while brushing and repeated washing soften the surface and allow the colour to settle into the fabric.

Raw silk → Screen print → Steam → Wash → Hand brushing → Steam → Wash → Ironing → Tailoring

The final scarves carry both the precision of print and the subtle irregularity of hand finishing — a surface designed to move with the wearer.

The final garments are cut, assembled and finished through our production team in Bangladesh, bringing traditional textile skills into contemporary silhouettes.

We believe responsible fashion begins with how we choose, use and value what already exists — materials, skills and the people who carry them forward.
